Detroit Lions’ 2024 Season Ends in Disappointment, Major Changes Ahead
The Detroit Lions will look back on their 2024 season for a variety of reasons, but ultimately, it will leave a bitter taste.
In the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, the Lions were defeated 45-31 by the Washington Commanders, bringing an end to their season. Despite a historic regular season, Detroit now faces an offseason that could see significant changes after falling short in 2024.
One of the biggest storylines is the potential departure of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who are both considered top candidates for open head coaching positions. Should they secure new jobs, the Lions’ coaching staff could undergo considerable reshuffling.
These potential changes will play a major role in Detroit’s offseason plans.
“The Lions will have a lot of talent returning, but there are some key staff pieces that may need replacing,” said co-host Christian Booher. “That’s the difficult part because they’ve made some great hires since Dan Campbell arrived. They’ve had strong continuity over the last few years with guys like Mark Brunell, Antwaan Randle El, Kelvin Sheppard, and Terrell Williams. All these coaches are likely to be pursued by other teams, and now the pressure will be on Dan Campbell to find the right replacements if they leave.”
