Jerry, I’m Done Listening”: Skip Bayless Slams Jerry Jones After Cowboys Miss Out on Pete Carroll
Skip Bayless Criticizes Jerry Jones After Missed Opportunity with Pete Carroll
“Jerry Jones is clever. He knows how to play the PR game. Now, he’s leaked that he had a conversation with Pete Carroll, but didn’t bring him in for an interview. He just talked to him so that after hiring Brian Schottenheimer, he could say, ‘I did talk to Pete, but we didn’t really reach any conclusions.’ Stop it. Jerry, I’m done hearing this,” Skip Bayless tweeted on his X account.
“He’s simply too charismatic for you, Jerry. You couldn’t control Pete Carroll. You couldn’t tell him what to do or give him orders. He would take over your franchise. And when he won, which I believe he would do quickly, most of the credit would go to him, maybe not as much as Deion Sanders, but almost all of it would go to Pete Carroll,” Bayless added.
Though Jerry Jones didn’t choose Pete Carroll as his head coach, Carroll appears to have secured a new role as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. At 73, Carroll will be one of the oldest coaches in the NFL. Before this, he served as a senior advisor for the Seattle Seahawks during the past season.
Robert Griffin III Questions Cowboys’ Commitment to Winning
Meanwhile, Robert Griffin III voiced his strong opinion on Jerry Jones’ decision to promote Brian Schottenheimer to head coach. The former NFL quarterback, who played for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns, posted on X, stating that the Dallas Cowboys “aren’t serious about winning.”
Many fans, along with sports analysts, have echoed similar sentiments, criticizing Jerry Jones for his choice. Some have suggested that Jones has lost his competitive drive and opted for a safer, more predictable
decision.
