LeBron James shares touching moment with Ann Iverson following Lakers’ match

After the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, LeBron James shared a memorable moment with Ann Iverson, the mother of Allen Iverson. After his son Bronny James played significant minutes in the 118-104 loss, LeBron met with Iverson following the game.

Allen Iverson recalled the first time he saw LeBron play in 2002 when St. Vincent-St. Mary High School faced off against Strawberry Mansion. According to ABC 6’s Jason Dumas, the two discussed that memory.

“I was telling them how it all started, you know. When you played, I [didn’t] care about seeing anyone except you,” Iverson shared. “I’d stand by the locker room, and you’d come out in your shorts to see me. But I got something I want you to sign.”

Following the Lakers’ 118-104 loss, LeBron James commented on Bronny’s increased playing time. Bronny, who did not score but registered three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 15 minutes, marked his first extended minutes.

“This is obviously his first real opportunity with us,” LeBron said after the game, as noted by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “We had a great moment in the first game, but tonight was his real chance to be with the team. He’ll keep using this experience to grow and improve.”

Before this game, Bronny typically played only at the end of blowout games or in short spurts for the Lakers. The second-round pick has spent much of the 2024-25 season between the Lakers’ NBA team and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

So far, Bronny has not scored more than two points in any game. In his early NBA career, he has accumulated four points, five rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals in 44 minutes of play.
