Juventus have been looking for one final signing in January and are reportedly close to securing Kevin Danso.
Amid a turbulent season for the Bianconeri, the January transfer window offers the management an opportunity to correct some of the errors made in the summer, such as not providing Dusan Vlahovic with sufficient backup, and to address the issues created by multiple injuries.

The club has already added Alberto Costa, Randal Kolo Muani, and Renato Veiga, but despite Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli claiming that the market is nearly closed ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Benfica, Pierre Kalulu’s injury has pushed Juventus to make another move, even though many believe Giuntoli was exaggerating.
Kevin Danso gives a thumbs-up
In recent days, Juventus has been linked with a variety of defenders across Europe, including Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle United and Jean-Clair Todibo from West Ham United. Meanwhile, Italian sources have suggested that the club may turn to domestic options, targeting Serie A defenders Thomas Kristensen (Udinese) and Saba Goglichidze (Empoli).
However, Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, has reported that Juventus have identified Danso as the ideal candidate for the role and are now close to finalizing an agreement, edging out Wolves and other competitors.
“Juventus are close to completing a deal for Kevin Danso as a new centre-back from Lens,” Romano shared on his official X account.
“Final details are being worked out, with a loan move involving a €4m total package, including €2.5m as an initial fee. Wolves and Rennes have been pursuing him for days, but Juventus are now in the lead, feeling confident.”
Danso, a 26-year-old Austria international, began his career at Reading’s academy before moving through several clubs in England and Germany, including MK Dons, Augsburg, and Southampton.
However, he has been a key player at Lens since 2021, with a contract that runs until June 2027.
