The NBA trade deadline is approaching, set for 3 p.m. ET on February 6. As the deadline nears, many trade rumors will likely swirl around high-profile players in the league.
One major name reportedly available is Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, who has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team policies. Another player on the trade block is Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers, who has been a subject of trade talks for several years now.
The Los Angeles Lakers have once again been connected to Turner, with the rumors intensifying following Anthony Davis’ injury.
According to the latest odds from Bovada, the Lakers are now the frontrunners to acquire Turner. Bovada’s odds read: “Where Will Myles Turner Play after the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline if not the Pacers?” A recent report revealed that the Lakers have made another inquiry about Turner, especially since the asking prices for two other centers, Jonas Valanciunas (Wizards) and Nikola Vucevic (Bulls), are too high for the Lakers’ budget.
The Sacramento Kings have the second-highest odds, which is intriguing in light of recent speculation about a potential trade involving guard De’Aaron Fox.
Turner signed a two-year, $40.9 million extension with the Pacers in 2023, which means his contract will expire at the end of this season. This raises concerns for some teams, as they may hesitate to trade significant assets for Turner, who could be a short-term acquisition.
For the season, Turner is averaging 15.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. He remains a strong player and would be a valuable addition to the Lakers or any team able to
secure him.
