Unai Hernandez says goodbye to Barcelona, vows to return after moving to Al-Ittihad”

‘it’s official

Unai Hernandez has promised to return to Barcelona after finalizing his transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

The 20-year-old midfielder shared a message with supporters on social media, expressing that Barcelona will always be his home.

He posted on Instagram: “Today I have to say goodbye, but it’s not a farewell, just a ‘see you later.’ Barça will always be my home, and I know I’ll come back. Thanks for everything, everyone! Long live Barça, now and forever.”

The young talent was in the final year of his contract with Barcelona and has chosen to pursue a new challenge in the Middle East. Reports suggest that Al-Ittihad will pay approximately 5 million euros for his transfer.

Unai has been an important player for Barcelona Atletic this season and will certainly be missed. It’s believed that he decided to leave as a result of limited opportunities to break into the first team, given the presence of Pedri, Gavi, and Dani Olmo in Hansi Flick’s squad.

Ramon Planes, the former Barcelona sporting director now at Al-Ittihad, seems to have seized the chance to sign this promising young talent from the Catalan club.

Best of luck at Al-Ittihad, Unai Hernandez!
