Detroit Lions Update: Craig Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown explain their early tension.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is well-known for his bold personality.
His choice of fashion is just one example.
But that boldness usually targets players from opposing teams. When running back Craig Reynolds joined the St. Brown Podcast, he shared an amusing revelation — he couldn’t stand St. Brown when they first met, and St. Brown felt the same way.
“First off, he had the silver hair, I thought that s*** was corny,” Reynolds recalls, remembering his first impression of St. Brown in 2021.
Reynolds said the coaches were hyping up St. Brown in film sessions, but Reynolds didn’t get it.
“He was cocky, bro, I thought by the end of the season I might rumble him… and we’re on the same team,” he said.
St. Brown then chimed in with his own less-than-rosy thoughts on Reynolds. They eventually bonded while playing together later in the 2021 season against the Denver Broncos, sharing a moment at the sideline water cooler after yet another tough loss — a season that ended with a 3-13-1 record.
The full clip is both hilarious and heartwarming. You can tell these guys are tight when they can trash talk each other while laughing. Even though the Lions’ situation might still feel grim, it’s nice to see the camaraderie within the team.
