As Bronny James continues to progress with the Los Angeles Lakers, his father, LeBron James, took the opportunity to remind fans and critics that his son is still in the early stages of his journey.
On Friday, Los Angeles photographer koolmac posted a video featuring highlights and training clips of Bronny James, beginning with his time at USC. The video also showcased his performances in the G League, where he has been excelling while splitting his time between the South Bay Lakers and the NBA team.
LeBron James, seeing the video, shared it on his Instagram Stories and delivered a strong message about his eldest son.
“The movie has just begun!” wrote the Lakers superstar.
Bronny James has faced significant criticism ever since the Lakers selected him 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. Some critics have accused the James family of nepotism, suggesting the 20-year-old guard only reached the pros because of his father.
Despite the backlash, Bronny James has remained focused on his development. Though he hasn’t played much with the Lakers, he has made an impact in the G League, averaging 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.0 steals over three regular season games.
In seven games in the Tip-Off Tournament, Bronny averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals.
