After the Senior Bowl, the Detroit Lions target specific areas of need in this three-round mock draft.
The Detroit Lions’ 2025 draft doesn’t have to be overly complicated, and this post-Senior Bowl three-round mock draft reflects that.
With the East-West Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl now concluded, the pre-draft process is moving into full swing. This also means mock drafts will increase in frequency ahead of the NFL Combine and Pro Days. The Lions currently have seven picks, with their first and second-round picks (28th and 60th overall) already set.
Using Pro Football Network’s mock draft simulator, here’s how the post-Senior Bowl three-round mock for Detroit turned out.
First Round, pick No. 28: Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
Green was viewed as a possible first-round pick even before the Senior Bowl, and the event served as a test against higher-level competition than he faced at Marshall. He stood out in one-on-one pass rush drills, including a memorable play where he dominated Oregon OT Josh Conerly, a potential first-round pick himself. Green also dispelled concerns about his weight when he weighed in at 251 pounds. He is not only an excellent pass rusher (17 sacks last season), but also a versatile defender (84 tackles and 23 tackles for loss), making him a perfect fit for Detroit. If he’s available at No. 28, the Lions shouldn’t hesitate.
Second Round, pick No. 60: Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State
The Lions missed out on adding a solid replacement for Josh Reynolds last offseason, and they won’t make that mistake again. With Tim Patrick potentially leaving in free agency, the team may look to the draft to add a WR3. Higgins fits the bill. At 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, he has ideal “X” receiver size, combined with impressive contested catch ability and route-running skills that belie his size. Over two years at Iowa State, he registered 62 receptions of 15 or more yards, ranking third in FBS in that span. PFF noted his improvements in creating separation during Senior Bowl practices, making him a perfect pick for the Lions here.
Third Round, pick No. 101: Miles Frazier, OG, LSU
This pick is a compensatory selection the Lions will receive for losing defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to the New York Jets. It will likely fall around pick No. 100 when the final draft order is set. Frazier played primarily right guard for LSU over the past two seasons (also starting his final game at right tackle), allowing just 19 quarterback pressures on over 1,000 pass-blocking snaps. With experience at every position but center, he provides the versatility Detroit needs for depth on the offensive line. The Lions’ guard situation is uncertain with Kevin Zeitler hitting free agency and Graham Glasgow coming off a rough season. Frazier could add competition and depth to the line, even if not an immediate starter.
