Following Jared Goff’s new career path, his wife expresses her thoughts in three words.
In an interview during the 2024 NFL season, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff shared that he often thinks about his life after football and what he might do once his playing career ends.
“Whenever that time comes, whether it’s in a few years or more, will I be burnt out or still want more?” he told the Detroit Free Press. “I don’t know. I’ve always said I’d love to help out a friend who’s a coach, especially a head coach. Not necessarily coaching quarterbacks or anything, but just being there to offer help, wherever I can.”
“…If I end up coaching my kid in high school, that’d be fun. But if a close friend of mine becomes a head coach somewhere, I’d love to assist however I could. It might even be a remote role, depending on the location.”
Although Goff is still focused on his NFL career for now, he’s already making plans for what comes next. On Friday, it was announced that he is part of a group working to bring a WNBA team to Detroit.
“I’m excited to join this amazing group of leaders as we work to bring a WNBA team to Detroit! It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community and the most dedicated fans in the nation!” he wrote in a statement on his Instagram story.
His wife, Christen, is also involved in the bid and expressed her excitement with the hashtag “#LetsBringIt” and a blue heart.
At just 30 years old, Goff still has many years in football ahead of him, but he’s already thinking about what comes after.
