Goff Wins MVP, But the Real Prize Still Awaits!

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff won the Offensive MVP award at the 2025 Pro Bowl, held in Orlando, Florida. While this wasn’t the NFL MVP award, it was still a recognition of Goff’s exceptional play.

Goff Shines in Pro Bowl Victory

In the flag football Pro Bowl game, Goff led the NFC to a 76-63 victory over the AFC. He threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his accuracy and command of the offense. His performance also extended to the precision passing event, where he further proved his elite skill set.

This award comes as Goff is being recognized as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. His 2024 regular-season numbers were outstanding:

72.4% completion percentage

4,629 passing yards

37 touchdowns, 12 interceptions

Led the Lions to a 15-2 record and the NFC’s top seed

A Possible NFL MVP?

Goff’s fantastic season has made him a finalist for the NFL MVP award, though the winner has not been announced yet. While many expect Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Brock Purdy to be in the running, Goff’s contributions to Detroit’s resurgence make him a strong contender.

Regardless of whether he wins the official NFL MVP, his Pro Bowl MVP award adds another accolade to his impressive season. It also cements his role as the leader of the Lions, a team that has gone from an underdog to a Super Bowl contender under his leadership.
