Jared Goff: I owe a lot of my success to Ben Johnson; he’s made a massive difference, and I’ll always be a fan.

At the Pro Bowl last week, Goff mentioned in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio that the Bears are getting “a hell of a coach.”

“He’s a guy who has made a huge impact on my career,” Goff said. “I’m a big fan of his. I jokingly told him I wish he wasn’t in our division so I wouldn’t have to face him twice a year.

“But he’s going to do an excellent job. Hopefully not too excellent, though, with us being in the same division. I’ll always support him, and we’ll keep a strong relationship.”

To replace Johnson, the Lions hired John Morton as their offensive coordinator for 2025. Morton, who served as the Broncos’ passing game coordinator the past two seasons, was also on the Lions’ staff in 2022 as a senior offensive assistant. This means there’s some familiarity between Goff and his new play-caller.
