Detroit Lions

Jared Goff is among the group of investors aiming to bring a WNBA team to Detroit.

Though the excitement may die down for a bit (maybe it’s time to pause for a while), Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff keeps winning over the city. This time, he’s part of the group bidding to bring a WNBA team back to Detroit.

“No. Not right now,” Goff said at the time. “Maybe in 20 or 30 years, but not now. I don’t have enough money for that.”

Goff would join a growing number of former athletes stepping into franchise ownership, and being involved in the potential return of a WNBA team to Detroit would be a great opportunity for him and his wife, Christen, to learn the ropes.

This week, Goff shared the following message on his Instagram story:

“I’m excited to join this inspiring group of leaders as we work to bring a WNBA team back to Detroit! This is a great opportunity for our vibrant community and the most passionate fans in the country!”
