Steph Curry’s immediate response to Luka Doncic’s shocking trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the LA Lakers has gone viral.

The 25-year-old has set the basketball world abuzz after joining the Lakers in a surprising multi-player deal. “We believe defense wins championships, and we’re bringing in one of the top two-way players in the league,” he stated, as Anthony Davis and Max Christie head the other way.

However, it’s the acquisition of 25-year-old Doncic that has generated the most buzz, with many surprised by the move given his elite status and impact on the court. The trade has sent shockwaves through the basketball community, and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka called Doncic a “unique global superstar” who will be the face of the franchise for years to come.

Golden State Warriors star Curry, however, took a different stance when asked about the trade. In a video shared online, Curry appeared shocked by the news and, when questioned whether he thought the trade was positive or negative, he simply responded: “Neither.” Doncic, the NBA scoring champion in 2024 and a five-time All-Star, will now join forces with LeBron James at the Lakers and play under the guidance of his former Mavericks teammate, JJ Redick, now the Lakers’ coach. Dallas GM Discusses How the Trade Came About

While many Mavericks fans remain puzzled by the decision to approve the trade, Dallas GM Nico Harrison believes it will benefit the team in the long run.

“Trades don’t happen at even the smallest level without some things leaking,” Harrison explained.

“Rob [Pelinka] and I had several deep conversations over three or four weeks. It started casually, with a simple coffee meeting. It was more like, ‘Would you ever consider this?’ ‘I’m not sure, let me think.’ It built from there.”

“We kept everything between us. We had to. [Kidd] wasn’t aware of it.”

“But [Kidd] and I are in sync. We discuss the type of players we want and the culture we aim to build. I know the kind of players he prefers without needing to ask.”
