Detroit Lions

A Detroit Lions defender is expected to move to Las Vegas.

As the Detroit Lions move into the offseason, one of their key priorities is deciding the future of cornerback Carlton Davis, who played a crucial role in their defense during the 2024 season. Davis, acquired through a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helped solidify the Lions’ secondary, which had been a concern in previous years.

Carlton Davis’ Influence and Injury Issues

Davis had one of his best seasons in coverage with Detroit, providing a major impact as a seasoned leader in the secondary. However, injury troubles once again surfaced, as he sustained a jaw fracture in Week 15, ending his season early. Despite this setback, Davis’ performance this season has increased his value, making him an appealing target for teams in need of a veteran cornerback.

Could Las Vegas Be the Destination?

One team anticipated to show interest in Davis is the Las Vegas Raiders. According to Zack Cook of Sports Grid, the Raiders might be a top destination for Davis as they look to strengthen their defense with experienced leadership. Given Davis’ veteran presence and strong play, he is expected to generate significant interest in the free-agent market.

While Davis’ future with the Lions remains uncertain, many predict that he could be heading to Las Vegas to help enhance the Raiders’ defense and contribute to their ongoing improvement.
