LeBron’s Reaction in a Restaurant After the Anthony Davis Trade News: “Everyone’s Staring at Bron”
What LeBron James Did After Hearing the News of Anthony Davis Trade
After a rocky start to the 2024-25 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers have undeniably made a remarkable recovery, putting themselves in strong contention for a deep playoff run.
The partnership between LeBron James and Anthony Davis has been crucial in the Lakers’ turnaround, with both players significantly contributing to the team’s success.
Despite being 40, James continues to wow fans with his exceptional play on both ends of the court. Meanwhile, Davis has been playing at an MVP-caliber level, anchoring the defense for the Lakers.
Given their success, it came as a major shock when news broke that Davis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster deal to bring Luka Doncic to Los Angeles.
Many speculated that James had some involvement in the decision to trade Davis, but it has since been reported that he had no knowledge of the move. Former NBA player Richard Jefferson recently confirmed this.
“It was Rich Paul, Bron, Savannah, everybody sitting at dinner—and the phones start blowing up. She was the one telling me, man, like, ‘Bron was like, ‘What the hell?’ Bron jumped on the phone, looking at Rich like, ‘Rich, did you know?’ She was telling me the story bit by bit of what they were doing at dinner, right? Just like, everybody was flabbergasted,” Jefferson shared.
He continued: “And she said the whole restaurant picked up their phones, and everyone was now looking at Bron because, you know what I’m saying, they see him in the spot. I say that to confirm what you’re saying—no one knew. No one knew this s**t was going down.”
LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the NBA’s biggest stars, and his influence over trade decisions is immense.
Additionally, with Davis being represented by Rich Paul’s Klutch Sports, it seemed likely that James would be aware of any potential trade. However, it’s now clear that James was caught completely off guard by Davis’ move to the Mavericks, just like the rest of the NBA.
