LeBron James revealed that he was in shock for two days following the Los Angeles Lakers’ trade of Anthony Davis, his close friend and teammate for over five years.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer is now adjusting to the idea of building a new partnership with Luka Doncic, a player James holds in high regard.

“Luka has been one of my favorite players for a while,” James shared Tuesday evening after posting 26 points in the Lakers’ dominant victory over the Clippers. “I’ve always aimed to play the game the right way and motivate the next generation, and Luka is part of that. Now, we’re teammates, so the transition will be smooth.”
