Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions were seen as the top contenders for the Super Bowl when the NFC playoffs began.
After quickly claiming the No. 1 seed and looking like the strongest team in football, the Lions faced a shocking defeat to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round. Soon after, Detroit lost star offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to division rivals Chicago as the Bears’ new head coach.
“He’s a hell of a coach, he’s made a ton of difference in my career, I’m obviously a big fan of his,” Goff shared about his former coordinator. “I joked with him, I wish he didn’t have to be in our division so I wouldn’t have to beat him twice a year.
He’ll do a great job, hopefully not too well though, since we’re still in the same division. I’ll always be a fan of his and we’ll keep a good relationship.”
As Goff prepares for the offseason, he and his wife Christen Harper made their way to New Orleans before the Super Bowl for NFL Honors.
“The Lions’ MVP finalist on the red carpet,” the NFL posted on social media, showcasing the couple’s outfits.
Fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts on the pair.
“My apologies Jared, I wasn’t familiar with the game you play,” one fan commented.
