Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions were the favorites to reach the Super Bowl when the NFC playoff race began.
After claiming the No. 1 seed and looking like the top team in football, the Lions faced a shocking upset loss to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round. Soon after, Detroit lost star offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Chicago Bears, who hired him as their new head coach.
“He’s an amazing coach, he’s made a huge impact on my career, and I’m a big fan of his,” Goff said about his former offensive coordinator. “I joked with him, wishing he wasn’t in our division so I wouldn’t have to play him twice a year. He’s going to do a fantastic job, hopefully not too great, since we’re still in the same division. I’ll always be a supporter of him and we’ll always have a good relationship.”
As Goff prepares for the offseason, he and his wife Christen Harper visited New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl for NFL Honors.
“The @Lions’ MVP finalist on the red carpet,” the NFL shared on social media, showcasing the couple’s outfits.
Fans took to social media to react to the pair.
“My apologies, Jared, I didn’t realize the level of skill you possess,” one fan commented.
