Megan Stefanski, a Goetzville native, was named the 2024 NFL Fan of the Year for her devoted support of the Detroit Lions. Stefanski, known for her unwavering loyalty to the team, was honored by the Lions and became a beloved figure in the fan community. Her schedule quickly became packed with events, from meet-and-greets to organizing tailgates with other Lions superfans like Chef Geech.
In December, Stefanski’s family and friends, joined by Lions mascot Roary, surprised her with the news that she would represent the team at Super Bowl LIX.
What sets Stefanski apart is her dedication to attending Lions games. Despite being from Goetzville, which is over 700 miles and a 10-hour round trip away, she makes the journey to Ford Field regularly to cheer on the team.
She is also a member of Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association and the Tailgating Hall of Fame. Stefanski has a strong reputation in the community for organizing weekly Lions gatherings and group trips for road games.
The NFL’s website notes that Stefanski organizes an annual charity event at her family’s bar and grill, Yooperman’s, raising funds for Hospice of the EUP, which receives tremendous support from fellow Lions fans. Last year, the event raised $30,000 in one weekend, following a $37,000 total the previous year.
