Micah Parsons Makes Waves with Strong Opinion on Dak

FRISCO – Micah Parsons has never been one to hold back his emotions, whether about football or other matters. However, when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, he is even more outspoken. This is hardly surprising, given the numerous bold opinions shared on his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons. Alongside his strong opinions, Parsons also has a deep appreciation for playing in Dallas.

After missing four games due to an ankle injury, Parsons returned to a team whose playoff hopes had already faded. Despite this, his unwavering leadership helped propel the Cowboys to four wins in their final seven games. While this success hurt their draft position, it at least restored some morale in an otherwise disappointing season. Since then, Parsons has been vocal about his commitment to staying in Dallas and turning the team into a contender.

His passion was on display again this week during an appearance on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. When asked about the criticism surrounding Dak Prescott, Parsons quickly came to his teammate’s defense.

“I think Dak should’ve been MVP last year… if you look at the stats and everything he accomplished… but when Lamar [Jackson] puts up the same numbers as Dak, he’s seen as the most deserving. I’m not saying Lamar didn’t deserve it, but the way people scrutinized Dak is unfair. When his defense struggled, they blamed him. People always say, ‘It’s a team sport,’ but sometimes they make it about just one player.”

Many Cowboys fans share the belief that Prescott deserved the 2023 MVP award, as he outperformed winner Lamar Jackson in several key statistical categories. This became even more apparent when Josh Allen edged out Jackson under similar circumstances during Thursday night’s announcement.

Regardless of the MVP debate, Parsons’ loyalty to Prescott is commendable, even if defending him has become a tiring effort. Despite Prescott’s consistently high-level performances, he has faced unwarranted criticism—a trend unlikely to change as long as he remains the Cowboys’ quarterback.

Ultimately, much of the criticism against Prescott stems from his postseason track record, fair or not. And on that front, even Parsons doesn’t have much of a counterargument.
