The Los Angeles Lakers have added guard Jordan Goodwin to a two-way contract, while simultaneously releasing two-way forward Armel Traoré.
Goodwin (6’5″, 220) recently played for the South Bay Lakers. His promotion to the main roster is the second of the 2024-25 season for South Bay, and the 54th overall in the team’s history.
This season, Goodwin played in 17 G League games, including the Tip-Off Tournament and regular season (nine starts). He averaged 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 steals in 24.0 minutes per game. Goodwin scored in double figures in 14 games, with a season-high of 25 points against Texas on January 31. Over 49 regular season games (44 starts) in three NBA G League seasons (2024-25 with South Bay, and 2021-23 with Capital City), Goodwin has averaged 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.8 steals in 30.6 minutes.
At 26 years old, Goodwin has played 121 NBA regular season games (19 starts) over three seasons with Memphis (2023-24), Phoenix (2023-24), and Washington (2021-23), putting up averages of 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 17.9 minutes per game.
Traoré was signed to a two-way deal by the Lakers on July 5 and appeared in nine games, averaging 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.4 minutes. With the South Bay Lakers, he played in 13 games (10 starts), recording averages of 14.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 27.1 minutes per game.
