$94 Million Trade: Lions and Packers in the Spotlight as Chargers, Panthers Monitor Situation

The Lions and Packers have emerged as potential suitors in the latest Maxx Crosby trade rumors this offseason. With the NFL heading into a busy period, speculation is rising that the Las Vegas Raiders might trade their star pass rusher. Crosby hinted at the possibility of a trade during an interview last month, expressing his frustration.

Although the Raiders are moving forward under new head coach Pete Carroll, Crosby emphasized it’s ultimately up to the team whether he stays or goes, adding that he’s just focused on playing football.

The Lions stand out as a possible destination for Crosby. After a crushing loss to the Commanders and losing Aidan Hutchinson to a season-ending injury, Detroit could use an elite pass rusher. Crosby’s recent tweet supporting the Detroit Pistons sparked further speculation. Meanwhile, the Packers could also be in the mix, with rumors suggesting they might offer cornerback Jaire Alexander as part of a trade package. However, acquiring Crosby will likely require more than one star player.

For the Raiders to part ways with their top defensive asset, it will take a substantial return, including multiple first-round picks and a high-caliber offensive player. As Las Vegas rebuilds, they’ll need valuable assets to accelerate the process. The Chargers and Panthers may also join the race with intriguing offers the Raiders might not refuse.

The Chargers are focused on bolstering their trenches under head coach Jim Harbaugh’s philosophy. While rebuilding their passing offense for Justin Herbert is crucial, addressing their pass rush is just as important. With Khalil Mack likely leaving and Joey Bosa a potential cap casualty, they’ll need new talent on defense.

Poona Ford may return, but inconsistent wide receiver Quentin Johnston could be used as part of a trade package for Crosby. However, the Chargers would likely need to add two first-round picks and a future third-rounder to sweeten the deal. For the rebuilding Raiders, Johnston could thrive in a fresh environment.

The Panthers also enter the offseason in full rebuild mode under head coach Dave Canales. After prioritizing offensive weapons for Bryce Young, the team may shift focus to defense. Promising young receivers like Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker offer optimism for the offense.

With Jadeveon Clowney’s future uncertain, Carolina might include him in a trade package alongside Miles Sanders, Adam Thielen, and two first-round picks. Pairing Crosby with Derrick Brown could create a dominant defensive front, which the Panthers desperately need after overlooking the defense last offseason.
