R Lions’ season and discussed how they can progress further under head coach Dan Campbell in his fifth year.
“I’m studying the Super Bowl, trying to figure out what other teams excel at,” Bellino explained. “Philadelphia was strong in the running game. They kept pushing with Saquon Barkley—he had around 25 carries for 70-something yards. He wasn’t dominant, but they made big plays and executed well offensively.
“But for me, the MVP should’ve gone to the entire defensive line,” he continued. “They should have just brought the whole unit on stage and handed them the trophy, making extra copies so each player could have one in their living room. That’s the level of defensive dominance I want to see from our Lions. Complementary football is key—your defense must support your offense, your offense must work with special teams, and so on.”
The episode also delves into Jahmyr Gibbs’ expanded role in Detroit’s offense, the team’s coaching staff changes, the shift in perception now that the Lions are seen as a consistent contender, and how acquiring Myles Garrett could reshape the defensive line.
