PSG Ready to Pay €45M for Unexpected Defensive Choice from Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain may be looking to sign a center-back this summer, as Milan Škriniar is not part of Luis Enrique’s plans. The experienced defender is expected to be permanently transferred after his loan with Fenerbahçe ends.

The French club has started to be connected with central defenders, with one of the latest names being Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen. However, PSG is unlikely to focus solely on one target and will keep various options in mind for potential signings.

Last summer, PSG also showed interest in Huijsen but ultimately brought in Willian Pacho, who has turned out to be an excellent acquisition.

According to SPORT, PSG director Luis Campos has already contacted Real Madrid’s Raul Asencio to explore his potential interest in moving to Paris. The report claims PSG are prepared to pay up to €45 million to secure the young Spanish player.

PSG are also reportedly willing to offer Asencio a significant salary to persuade him to join—an interesting move given he had no professional football experience just four or five months ago.

However, despite PSG’s interest, Asencio is still under contract with Real Madrid until 2026, with a €50 million release clause.

Real Madrid plans to begin contract negotiations this summer to reward his progress with a pay raise and ensure his future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
