Chicago Bears 2025 Team Adjustments: Searching for a Running Back

2025 Outlook

The Bears are expected to add another running back, though it won’t be a perfect one-two duo like Sonic and Knuckles. Instead, they’ll look for someone who complements D’Andre Swift’s playing style. Given the depth of this year’s running back class, they’re unlikely to use their 10th overall pick on one. Instead, they’ll likely select a back later in the draft, with potential options including Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson, Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo, South Carolina’s Raheim Sanders, or Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson or Quinshon Judkins.

If Chicago opts to explore free agency, A.J. Dillon from the Packers could be a strong fit. His physical running style would provide a nice contrast to Swift’s skill set. Though Dillon spent all of 2024 on injured reserve, he’s now fully recovered.

Another option is Denver’s Javonte Williams, though he’d come at a higher price. If the Bears are looking for a significant backfield upgrade, Williams’ ability to play all three downs could push Swift into more of an RB2 role.

Detroit’s Craig Reynolds is a restricted free agent, so the Bears could consider making him an offer.

What do you think the Bears will do at running back this offseason?
