A resurfaced video showcases Jerry Jeudy’s impressive draft interview with the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns made a bold move last offseason. Trading for Jerry Jeudy seemed like a smart decision at the time, but giving him a large contract extension before he played a single snap was definitely a risk.
Based on prior reports and rumors, it seemed Jeudy had issues with accountability and coachability, and had not lived up to expectations with the Denver Broncos.
However, a recently resurfaced clip from his initial meeting with the team before the 2020 draft reveals that the offensive coaching staff was highly impressed by him.
The team posted a clip showing Jeudy answering questions about routes and play concepts with confidence, and the Browns clearly liked what they heard.
HC Kevin Stefanski then asked Jeudy what areas he wanted to improve, and Jeudy admitted he needed to get stronger and focus on consistent weight room work.
In hindsight, Jeudy had a solid first season with the Browns.
He began the season as the team’s second option behind Amari Cooper, but became a key target once he was traded to the Buffalo Bills.
Although Deshaun Watson’s play limited his opportunities, Jeudy showed signs of being a top-tier WR1 once Jameis Winston took over as the starter.
The Browns still need to add another deep threat in the offseason, but it now looks like Jeudy can fulfill the high expectations placed on him as a former first-round pick.
