Chicago Sky Adjust Venue for Indiana Fever Games Following Caitlin Clark Comments
The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever feature two of the WNBA’s brightest stars, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. On Friday, the Sky made a major announcement to increase access for fans wanting to watch these two players when their teams meet.
Clark and Reese developed a rivalry during their college years, with Clark playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Reese leading the LSU Tigers. However, when asked about her relationship with Reese, Clark expressed confusion about the ongoing narrative of their rivalry.
“I don’t get that at all,” Clark told Time magazine. “We’re not best friends, by any means, but we’re very respectful of each other. Yes, we’ve had some great battles. But when have I ever guarded her? And when has she guarded me?”
Whether they are rivals or not, their matchups draw significant fan attention. This has prompted the Sky to move their home games against the Fever in 2025 to a larger venue, with Clark’s remarks from June believed to be a possible reason behind the decision.
“Another Fever schedule update: Sky are moving their home games from Wintrust Arena (10k) to the United Center (20k). June 7 and July 27. Caitlin Clark last June: ‘I saw the ticket prices. I guess the only thing is I’m surprised we’re not playing at the United Center,'” shared Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files on X.
After quick sellouts of Chicago’s games against Indiana last season, the Sky are shifting to the United Center, which holds double the capacity of Wintrust Arena, to better serve fans.
The Sky will host the Fever on June 7 and July 27 during the 2025 season.
