LeBron James Breaks NBA Record in Lakers’ Victory Against Timberwolves

LeBron James continues to enhance his remarkable basketball legacy. On Thursday night, the four-time NBA MVP delivered another incredible performance, defying “Father Time” once more. James scored 33 points in a 111-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena. In addition to his scoring, James grabbed 17 rebounds, dished out six assists, and stole one ball, shooting 11-for-21 from the field and 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. James has been playing with a clear sense of urgency, especially since the NBA All-Star break. His latest performance made NBA history, as he became the first player ever to score at least 25 points in five consecutive games at 40 years old or older, according to the NBA History’s X account.

James, who turned 40 in December, entered the Timberwolves game following a 27-point performance in a 107-99 win against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. He set the tone for another high-scoring outing against the Timberwolves, recording 10 points in the first quarter.

The 21-time NBA All-Star has been averaging 30.2 points per game over his last five outings while shooting 55.3 percent from the field.

James will look to extend his streak Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, although he may sit out that game after appearing to injure his hamstring late in the Timberwolves contest.
