Ronaldo Nazario dismisses Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘greatest ever’ assertion, shares his own G.O.A.T. choice.

Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario has dismissed Cristiano Ronaldo’s claim that he is the greatest footballer of all-time.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and current Al-Nassr star recently stated that he believes himself to be the best player ever, citing his all-around attributes as a complete striker, which he believes give him the edge over Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Pele. Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Ors and 33 major trophies, including five Champions Leagues and the European Championships with Portugal.

However, Ronaldo, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner and two-time World Cup champion, has rejected the 40-year-old forward’s assertion. Speaking to ESPN, he explained: “I really don’t like to get involved in this topic. People have very high self-esteem, to be honest. I prefer to let people talk about what I did, what I was.”

He continued: “On the subject, Cristiano Ronaldo has an amazing career. He accomplished great things, doing everything his way, including changing positions from the wing to center. That’s not an easy thing. He’s certainly one of the best in football history, but the best? I don’t agree, but I respect his opinion. Cristiano is one of the best, among the top ten.”

O Fenomeno then shared his opinion on who the greatest footballer of all time is, offering his own top 10. He said: “Pele is number one, Messi and Maradona are tied, followed by Zico, Romário, Cristiano Ronaldo, Van Basten, Zidane, Figo, and Rivaldo.”
