The Rams have extended Matthew Stafford’s tenure by finalizing a fresh contract.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will not be changing teams this offseason.

According to an ESPN report on Friday, Stafford has agreed to a new contract with the Rams, ensuring his stay in Los Angeles.

This move puts an end to speculation that the former Detroit Lions quarterback might leave, following reports that he was dissatisfied with his contract. Previously, Stafford had two years and $58 million left on his deal, and the Rams had even allowed him to explore trade options with other teams.

Now 37 years old, Stafford proved in the 2024 season that he remains a top-level NFL quarterback. In his 16th season, he completed 65.8% of his passes for 3,762 yards, throwing 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Rams to the playoffs.

This marks Stafford’s fourth season with the Rams after spending his first 12 years with the Lions.
