Ex-Steelers QB Devlin Hodges presents Lainey Wilson with a breathtaking engagement ring

Lainey Wilson’s engagement ring from ex-Steelers QB is dazzling

It’s been nearly two weeks since former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges proposed, and country music sensation Lainey Wilson enthusiastically said, ‘Yes!’

Fans who follow the couple closely had a feeling this moment was on the horizon. But what else could be seen coming from a distance?

The engagement ring.

Hodges had the ring custom-made at Hollie Winter Fine Jewelry in Germantown, Tennessee, and the jeweler shared some photos on Instagram. The ring is so striking that it might be visible from space.

It’s a one-of-a-kind piece, unlike most engagement rings you’ve seen, and you can take a look at it here.

The jeweler didn’t disclose specific details about the ring’s design, but as seen in the photos, it speaks volumes on its own.

“We were truly honored to create something so special for a love that will last forever!” the jeweler posted on Instagram. “Lainey said yes to Devlin, and we couldn’t be more excited! It was a joy to be a part of their wonderful new journey together.”

Just over a week after fueling speculation about an engagement, Hodges proposed on February 12, and Wilson shared the news with a photo of them in a loving embrace.

She captioned the post, “4x4xU forever (heart emoji).”

Her fans and followers quickly responded with well-wishes.

“He gave a rock to a rolling stone, and the rolling stone let her heart free!” one person commented. “Congrats to both!”

“Omg!!!!!!!!!!!” another exclaimed. “I just hollered out loud! Congratulations.”

“CRYIN,” another added. “So happy for y’all.”

“Finally!!” another wrote. “He asked!!! I wish you both the very best!!!”

While Wilson and Hodges have generally kept their relationship private, Wilson’s rising stardom has made that more challenging.

Last year, she began to speak more openly about her relationship with Hodges, revealing she was hoping for marriage. She mentioned it in an interview with “Taste of Country Nights” in August, while discussing her song “Counting Chickens.”

Taste of Country pointed out that the lyrics included, “Far as I know, you ain’t bought a diamond / You ain’t sat my Daddy down and asked if it’s alright / I don’t mean to jump the gun on perfect timing / But if you brought up Vegas I’d be on a plane tonight.”

The article asked whether Wilson was subtly nudging Hodges, but she explained that he loved the song because, “at the end of the song, I say, ‘one chicken, two chickens, three chickens — oh shoot, I think that’s a duck… that’s just for him.’”

According to Taste of Country, the former Pittsburgh quarterback was “flattered” by the song.

And as for marriage?

“I guess I’m going to have to propose to his (expletive), because he ain’t proposed to me,” Wilson joked at the time.

She later added that she believed commitment would come when the time was right.

“I think it needs to be during a season of our life where we can really enjoy it,” she told Taste of Country. “Right now, it would be like, ‘Oh shoot, I’m engaged. OK, onto the next thing.’ I just want to soak it in.”

Fast forward to this year and Wilson’s appearance at the Grammy Awards. She shared a picture on Instagram of her outfit for the event, writing, “Ponying up for Grammy Week.”

“Duck” responded in the comments with, “Gosh dang (heart emoji) (flame emoji), This is what you look like in white?!”

At first glance, it seems like an innocent comment, but fans who have been closely following the couple took this as a sign that a date might already be set, and the couple was engaged.

It appears they were correct.

Wilson had previously hinted at her interest in making things official, and the topic came up again during a recent interview with Bunnie Xo, wife of Jelly Roll.

According to Taste of Country, Bunnie told Lainey that she was “manifesting” a wedding for the two in 2025.

“No pressure, brother!” Wilson said with a smile as she looked into the camera.

And now, it’s official.

Wilson once shared that their relationship began when Hodges was still with the Steelers

“We met at a time when he was still playing for them, but then everything changed,” she recalled. “His life was shifting as mine was, and we were heading in different directions…”

She described their relationship as a “whirlwind.”

Hodges, who went undrafted out of Samford in 2019, later signed with the Steelers as a free agent.
