PROVO, Utah – As the regular season concludes, BYU basketball has once again entered the AP Top 25.
This week, the Cougars moved up two positions, from No. 25 to No. 23.
Over the past three weeks, BYU has been one of the hottest teams in college basketball. Kevin Young’s squad is on a six-game win streak, including victories over Arizona State in Tempe and West Virginia at home last week.
Currently, BYU boasts a 21-8 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Big 12 play.
The Cougars will look to extend their streak on Tuesday against Iowa State, another AP Top 25 team.
The Cyclones fell from No. 9 to No. 10 in this week’s rankings. They’ve been a constant presence in the Top 10 throughout the season. The two teams will meet for the first time this year on Tuesday.
In addition to BYU and Iowa State, three other Big 12 teams are also ranked in the national poll, led by back-to-back Big 12 champions Houston, who moved up to No. 3.
Texas Tech passed Iowa State, taking the No. 9 spot. Arizona, holding the fifth and final spot for the Big 12, stayed at No. 24.
This marks BYU’s second appearance in the AP Top 25 this season. The Cougars also debuted in the Coaches Poll on Monday.
The USA Today Coaches Poll placed BYU at No. 22 for the week, ahead of Arizona, whom they defeated two weeks ago.
