Blizzard Weather Keeps BYU Basketball Team Stuck in Iowa

BYU Basketball Stranded in Iowa Due to Blizzard Conditions

BYU basketball is on fire right now, having extended its winning streak to seven games.

However, the team’s impressive performance on the court couldn’t overcome the severe weather conditions.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, the 23rd-ranked Cougars were still in Iowa, a day after defeating No. 10 Iowa State 88-85 in double overtime at Hilton Coliseum.

A BYU representative confirmed that the team remained in Iowa on Wednesday.

The Cougars were delayed in Iowa due to blizzard-like conditions and strong winds in the Midwest. The Des Moines area was under a high wind warning throughout the day.

The National Weather Service reported the high wind warning would end around 6 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday.

With a 22-8 record this season and 13-6 in the Big 12, the Cougars will finish the regular season with a rivalry game against Utah on Saturday.
