Lakers NBA

Amid LeBron James’ injury, the Lakers deliver a concerning update on Luka Doncic.

LeBron James will be sidelined for one to two weeks after suffering a groin injury during the Los Angeles Lakers’ tough loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday.

Not only did the Celtics end L.A.’s eight-game winning streak with a 111-101 win at TD Garden, but James’ injury adds to the team’s woes, further complicating their situation.

In addition to James’ setback, Luka Doncic, who was expected to step up in his absence, is now facing another challenge. The Lakers’ injury report for their Monday game against the Brooklyn Nets shows Doncic as questionable due to a sore back.

While James’ absence is a tough blow for the Lakers, it also presents Doncic with a chance to shine in his new role. However, the back issue, combined with previous calf, hip, and knee problems, suggests he may not be fully healthy. The Lakers will be leaning on him heavily over the next week or two, assuming he can play.

Jaxson Hayes is also listed as questionable for Monday’s game, while Rui Hachimura, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Maxi Kleber are all out.
