Washington Wizards’ Carlton ‘Bub’ Carrington has achieved a remarkable milestone, joining Kobe Bryant and Luka Doncic as one of the best young players in history.
In the Wizards’ matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Monday, Carrington became one of just three players to surpass 250 assists and 100 three-pointers before turning 20. He registered five assists and made one 3-pointer during their 104-119 loss in Toronto, playing 26 minutes.
Along with joining Bryant and Doncic, Bub also etched his name in Wizards history as the second-fastest rookie (62 games) to reach 100 three-pointers. Bradley Beal holds the record, achieving the milestone in 60 games during the 2012-13 season.
Carrington was the 14th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2024 NBA Draft. He was subsequently traded, along with Malcolm Brogdon, to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Deni Avdija.
At 19 years old, Bub has played 62 games this season, starting 42 of them. He’s averaging 9.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. He’s shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three-point range.
