Which BYU Players at Big 12 Pro Day Could Make It to the NFL?

Which of the 14 BYU Football Players at Big 12 Pro Day Have NFL Potential?

BYU will have a strong presence at the Big 12 Pro Day, as NFL hopefuls aim to catch the attention of professional scouts on one of the biggest stages in college football. From March 18-21, a group of 14 BYU football players will travel to Texas with hopes of impressing scouts at the Big 12 Pro Day.

Although the overall NFL draft prospects for the 2025 BYU Cougars aren’t particularly high, with Tyler Batty being the only player currently expected to be drafted, there remains a chance for others to increase their draft stock in front of NFL talent evaluators before next month’s draft.

Below is the list of the 14 BYU players heading to Texas with hopes of raising their stock with NFL scouts:

Offense: Gerry Bohanon, Caleb Etienne, Mason Fakahua, Keanu Hill, Brayden Keim, Darius Lassiter, Ray Paulo, Connor Pay

Defense: Isaiah Bagnah, Tyler Batty, Marque Collins, Blake Mangelson, John Nelson, Jakob Robinson

Let’s examine which of these players have the most to prove at the Big 12 Pro Day:

Caleb Etienne, OT

The Oklahoma State transfer struggled during his first year in Provo in 2023 but had a dominant 2024 season at left tackle. At 6-foot-8 and 320 pounds, he was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, a significant honor reflecting his strong play. With his NFL-ready size, Etienne can boost his draft prospects if he demonstrates speed, agility, and strength at Big 12 Pro Day, potentially positioning himself as a late-round pick.

Jakob Robinson, CB

Jakob Robinson earned an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl but didn’t see a noticeable increase in his draft stock after the event. He was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2024 and served as a team captain. However, at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, he is somewhat undersized for an NFL cornerback. A strong performance at Big 12 Pro Day could convince scouts that Robinson has the speed and strength to make it in the NFL.

Connor Pay, OL

Connor Pay, a team captain and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, saw his final season at BYU interrupted by a foot injury that caused him to miss several games. This setback diminished the momentum he had gained as a potential late-round draft pick. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Pay has the size, strength, and experience to make an NFL roster. His leadership qualities, along with his performance at Big 12 Pro Day, will also be key in catching the attention of scouts.

Darius Lassiter, WR

At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Darius Lassiter possesses the physical attributes scouts look for in an NFL wide receiver. During his final season at BYU, he was a co-captain and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after recording 45 receptions for 703 yards and four touchdowns. The Big 12 Pro Day presents an ideal opportunity for Lassiter to impress scouts. If he excels in speed drills and shows off his NFL-ready size, he could attract attention from talent evaluators and secure a spot as a undrafted free agent.
