“If Arch Is As Good As We Think”: College Football Analyst Makes Bold Prediction About Texas Longhorns and Arch Manning – Gridiron Heroics

The Texas Longhorns are expected to be one of the top teams in college football for the 2025 season. Despite not securing a National Championship in recent years, Texas has consistently been among the top programs in the country.

Last season, Quinn Ewers was the starting quarterback for head coach Steve Sarkisian. However, this year, Arch Manning will step into the role of starting quarterback. Manning had a few rushing touchdowns last season and completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Greg McElroy Discusses Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns’ Key Storyline Heading Into Spring

Texas quarterback Arch Manning speaks during media day for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024.

This year, the Longhorns will not hold a spring football game, a decision Sarkisian announced earlier in the offseason. With no spring game to assess Manning’s development, many are curious about his progress. On Always College Football, Greg McElroy shared his thoughts:

“If Arch is as good as we think he’s going to be… the rest of the SEC might be looking up at the Texas Longhorns.”

Texas made it to the SEC Championship Game last season against the Georgia Bulldogs, but lost in overtime. The Longhorns have reached the college football playoff semifinals in each of the last two seasons but have fallen short with Ewers. Some Texas fans believe they should have started Arch Manning at various points last season.

Many people are predicting that Texas will win the SEC and possibly the National Championship next season, largely due to Manning. The biggest challenges to the Longhorns’ title hopes will come from the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Tennessee Volunteers. The true test for Texas and Manning will come when the season begins on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
