Luka Doncic’s brief four-word remark catches attention after Lakers’ victory over Suns.

The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 107-96 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, largely due to a dominant performance by star guard Luka Doncic. The Suns had no solution for Doncic in this matchup, something he acknowledged with a bold four-word remark after scoring a difficult bucket.

Doncic finished the game as the Lakers’ leader in points (33), rebounds (11), and assists (8). Phoenix struggled to contain the Slovenian guard, and it led to a funny mic’d-up moment during the game where he commented on how open he was.

“I’ve never been open so much in life,” Doncic said on the court. “That’s the first time I’ve made this open shot.”

Phoenix couldn’t find an answer to Doncic offensively, which played a major role in their loss. After hitting an and-one shot over Oso Ighodaro, Doncic added insult to injury with a simple four-word statement picked up by fans in the stands.

“He cannot guard me,” Doncic said after sinking the shot.

With this win, the Lakers broke a four-game losing streak that followed LeBron James’ groin injury. With a 41-25 record, L.A. has gained some cushion in the standings as the surging Golden State Warriors trail them.

Los Angeles won’t have long to celebrate this victory, as they face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night at 10:30 p.m. EST in the second night of a back-to-back.
