Small Moves, Big Impact: NFL’s Latest Minor Transactions on March 18, 2025

On March 18, 2025, several NFL teams executed notable roster moves to strengthen their squads ahead of the upcoming season:

Houston Texans Signings: The Texans bolstered their offensive lineup by signing fullback Jakob Johnson and guard Laken Tomlinson. Johnson, a 30-year-old veteran with seven years of experience from the University of Tennessee, adds depth to the backfield. Tomlinson, a seasoned guard at 33 with eleven years in the league from Duke University, brings substantial experience to the offensive line.

Minnesota Vikings Acquisition: The Vikings secured cornerback Jeff Okudah on a one-year deal. Okudah, 26, was the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Despite early career injuries, he had a notable comeback in 2022 with 73 tackles and seven interceptions, including a touchdown. His addition is anticipated to enhance the Vikings’ secondary under defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

New York Giants Quarterback Pursuit: In an effort to strengthen their quarterback roster, the Giants have scheduled a visit with veteran quarterback Jameis Winston. With only Tommy DeVito currently on the roster, the Giants are exploring various options, including pursuing Aaron Rodgers, to solidify their quarterback position for the upcoming season.

These transactions underscore the teams’ strategic efforts to enhance their rosters and address key positional needs as they prepare for the forthcoming NFL season.
