LeBron James Reacts Strongly to College Basketball Team’s Coaching Hire.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made headlines with an enthusiastic “hell yeah” post on Thursday during March Madness. However, his reaction wasn’t to an exciting NCAA Tournament moment. Instead, he was celebrating a major coaching hire in college basketball.

James took notice as Iona basketball named Dan Geriot as its new head coach. While the Lakers star is currently dealing with a groin injury, he has still been keeping up with college basketball news. The four-time NBA champion praised the new hire, referring to him as “Big Dan.”

Geriot now becomes the 16th head coach in Iona’s program history. The Gaels, who have played for 72 seasons, previously had notable March Madness coaches like Kevin Willard (Maryland) and Rick Pitino (St. John’s).

Geriot steps in to replace Tobin Anderson, who led the program for two seasons. Anderson’s final team finished with a 17-17 record. However, Geriot’s hiring holds special significance due to his connection with James.
