The Kentucky Golden Owl Award goes to a teacher from Logan County.
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) – Wesley Estes, a Logan County educator, has been honored with the Golden Owl Award for his outstanding dedication as a teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor.
His students and family surprised him with the award, expressing their gratitude for his encouragement and unwavering support in both FFA and their personal development.
“He truly represents what it means to be an exceptional AG advisor—not just good, but incredible, phenomenal, any word you want to use. He’s been the best mentor we could have hoped for,” said FFA President Sophee Spears.
Estes hopes that every student seizes the chance to participate in FFA if given the opportunity.
“I can’t think of another organization that better prepares kids for life, no matter what path they take. Some of the greatest people I know are AG teachers, and some of the finest students I’ve met are FFA members and leaders,” Estes shared.
Supporting students and guiding them toward leadership remains a driving force behind Estes’ passion for teaching.
Motivating students and equipping them for their future endeavors is key to ensuring their success in whatever careers they pursue.
