Former Lions Receiver Reunites with Aaron Glenn in New York

The veteran wide receiver has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Jets, rejoining former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who is entering his first season as the Jets’ head coach. The deal is reportedly valued at up to $5 million, with $2.75 million guaranteed and the rest tied to achievable incentives.

Reynolds arrived in Detroit during the 2021 season after being released by the Tennessee Titans. His past experience with quarterback Jared Goff — from their time together with the Los Angeles Rams — had an immediate impact. Over three seasons with the Lions, Reynolds recorded 97 receptions for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving himself a reliable target in the passing game.

Though never the top receiver, Reynolds consistently stepped up in key moments and provided crucial depth behind stars like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

Bringing in Reynolds gives Aaron Glenn a trusted, veteran presence as he begins molding the Jets to fit his vision. While Glenn focused on defense in Detroit, his familiarity with the team’s culture and values likely influenced this signing.

The addition provides the Jets with an experienced receiver with a solid resume — and gives Reynolds a fresh chance to contribute in a new system.
