Former Lions WR Joins Aaron Glenn’s Squad in New York

Josh Reynolds is officially heading east.

The veteran wide receiver has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Jets, reuniting with former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, now in his first season as Jets head coach. The deal is valued at up to $5 million, including $2.75 million guaranteed, with the remainder based on achievable incentives.

A Reliable Contributor in Detroit

Reynolds joined Detroit in 2021 after being waived by Tennessee. His familiarity with quarterback Jared Goff — dating back to their time with the Rams — made an immediate impact. Over nearly three seasons, he caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving to be a dependable target.

Although never the team’s top receiver, Reynolds stepped up in key situations, providing valuable depth behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

A Familiar Face in Glenn’s New Era

Reuniting with Reynolds gives Glenn a trusted veteran as he reshapes the Jets in his own way. While Glenn worked defensively in Detroit, his connection to the team’s culture likely influenced this signing.

The Jets add an experienced receiver with a strong track record, while Reynolds gains a fresh opportunity in a new system.
