Jace LaViolette Breaks Texas A&M’s All-Time Home Run Record

Jace LaViolette Sets Texas A&M’s All-Time HR Record

Jace LaViolette has firmly established himself as one of the top sluggers in Texas A&M baseball history. The junior outfielder made an immediate impact in 2023 and continues to shine.

During his freshman year, LaViolette played in 64 games, hitting 21 home runs, achieving a .632 slugging percentage, and stealing 18 bases. He followed that impressive performance with 29 home runs in his sophomore year, the second-most in a single season for the Aggies, along with a .726 slugging percentage and a .449 on-base percentage.

LaViolette has continued his strong performance into his junior season, and on Saturday, he officially set the record for the most home runs in Texas A&M history. In the first inning against Kentucky, he hit a two-out solo homer that tied the game at one run each.

That home run marked his seventh of the season in just 26 games and was his 57th career home run, surpassing Daylan Holt, who held the previous record with 56. Holt also holds the Aggies’ single-season home run record with 34 in 1999.

Though it has been a tough year for the Aggies with a 13-12 record heading into Saturday and a 1-6 SEC record, LaViolette’s achievement is a bright spot. The team will look to bounce back as they aim for the College World Series in Omaha.
