Texas A&M Earns First SEC Win Behind Moss’ Strong Performance

Texas A&M’s starting pitching has been the standout aspect of a season where the Aggies struggled in their first two Southeastern Conference series, failing to secure a win.

On Friday, the Aggies captured their first conference victory with a 9-7 win over Kentucky, as their offense provided the necessary support for starting pitcher Ryan Prager.

A&M found itself trailing 7-1 after four innings in the series opener, with Prager surrendering six earned runs on eight hits before being pulled after three innings of work.

However, the Aggie offense responded in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run homer from catcher Bear Harrison. Harrison finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored.

The Aggies followed up with a five-run outburst in the fifth inning and added another run in the sixth.

Right fielder Terrence Kiel II nearly matched Harrison’s performance, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two doubles, and two runs scored.

Weston Moss provided a steadying influence on the mound, pitching six scoreless innings, giving up three hits, and striking out six batters.
