Robinson thanks Big Blue Nation and Coach Mark Pope for believing in him and letting him represent Kentucky.
Not Every Path Is Straight
Not every college basketball journey follows a direct path. For Jaxson Robinson, his road took him through multiple programs before he finally found his place in Lexington. Though a wrist injury cut his season short, his influence on Kentucky basketball was undeniable.
As he said goodbye to Big Blue Nation, his words were simple yet powerful:
“Damn, what a ride… BBN THANK YOU! 😢”
From BYU to Kentucky, from sixth man to key contributor, Robinson’s journey was about more than just basketball—it changed his life.
Taking a Risk, Making It Matter
Robinson followed Mark Pope to Kentucky, a decision that altered the course of his career. Looking back on his time in Lexington, he didn’t hesitate to credit the coach who put faith in him:
“He took a chance on me. Being here, in this locker room, with these guys. Wearing this jersey and saying I played for the University of Kentucky—there’s nobody I can thank more than Mark Pope.”
A new role, a new team, and a fresh challenge awaited him. And he embraced it fully.
A Season Cut Short, A Legacy Secured
Robinson was playing at a high level before his wrist injury became too much to push through. Even in street clothes on the bench, he remained a dedicated teammate, cheering for Kentucky until the very end.
His stats reflected his contributions:
2024-25 Season: 13.0 PPG, 43.2% FG, 37.6% 3PT, 76.3% FT
Career: A steady scorer and perimeter threat, improving every year
But his value extended beyond numbers—he was a player who gave everything for the team.
A Wildcat for Life
Robinson’s time at Kentucky wasn’t just about scoring points—it was about creating unforgettable moments. He played with heart, overcame obstacles, and made the most of his opportunity in blue and white.
Though his season ended earlier than expected, his time at Kentucky will not be forgotten. Wherever his journey takes him next, he will always be a part of the Big Blue family.
