BYU Guard Dallin Hall Enters Transfer Portal Again
For the second year in a row, Dallin Hall has entered the transfer portal, announcing the news on his Instagram.
The BYU point guard has appeared in 100 games over his three seasons at BYU, starting 61 of them. This year, Dallin’s role changed, as he came off the bench in 10 of 32 games. He averaged 6.8 points and 4.2 assists in 24.6 minutes per game. Serving as the backup point guard behind Egor Demin, Dallin also played as a secondary ball handler in the backcourt.
Sources reveal that Dallin was seeking a starting role at BYU but likely didn’t see a clear opportunity to earn it. Egor Demin is still weighing the possibility of returning to BYU, and the coaching staff has been targeting other point guards and combo guards in the portal. Last year, Dallin entered the portal following a coaching change, visited Creighton, but eventually returned to BYU.
Dallin has been an integral part of BYU, not just for his contributions on the court, but also for his influence in the locker room and overall impact on the team’s culture. While BYU may be able to replace his on-court production, replicating his cultural influence will be more challenging.
