Final Punishment for Ja Morant Decided by NBA

NBA Issues Final Decision on Ja Morant’s Punishment

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies have been struggling recently, dropping four consecutive games in the second half of the NBA season.

As other teams push for playoff spots, the Grizzlies have been sliding down the league standings.

Memphis is currently ranked No. 8 in the Western Conference with a 44-32 record, tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers.

In one of their recent losses, Morant was involved in a controversial incident.

While walking back to the Grizzlies’ bench during a timeout, Morant made a gesture toward the Warriors’ bench, which led to an investigation by the NBA.

Many speculated that Morant would face punishment for making “finger gun motions,” but ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that both Morant and Warriors guard Buddy Hield, who made a similar gesture, will not face any additional penalties.

The NBA issued only a warning to both players after they each received technical fouls during the game.

In the Grizzlies’ 134-125 loss to the Golden State Warriors, Morant posted 36 points, three rebounds, and six assists.

This season, Morant has been averaging 22.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game.

Morant and the Grizzlies will return to action on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET, facing the Miami Heat.
