BYU Basketball Roster Tracker for the 2025-26 Season
This is your go-to guide to stay updated on the changes to BYU’s basketball roster for the 2025-26 season.
Keeping track of roster changes can be difficult, so this tracker is here to help keep you informed.
For the 2025-26 season, new roster limits will be in effect for all programs. Teams will now have 15 spots instead of 13 scholarship players. The catch is that the total roster size is still limited to 15 players. BYU had 17 players last season.
As of Sunday, April 6, BYU’s basketball team has 10 scholarship players for the 2025-26 season. This includes players with remaining eligibility from last year’s team, incoming freshmen, and transfer portal additions.
BYU Basketball Scholarship Players with Eligibility Remaining
Total: 7 (As of Sunday, April 6)
Dawson Baker (Redshirt-Senior in 2025-26)
Richie Saunders (Senior)
Keba Keita (Senior)
Mihailo Boskovic (Senior)
Egor Demin (Sophomore)
Brody Kozlowski (Sophomore)
Khadim Mboup (RS-Freshman)
BYU’s basketball roster currently features seven scholarship players from last year’s Sweet 16 team who still have eligibility. If all these players return, three of the five starters from the 2025 season would be back to build around for the 2026 campaign.
One of those starters, Keba Keita, was eager to return after BYU’s loss to Alabama in the NCAA Tournament. He announced on Instagram that he would “run it back” for the next season.
Keita shared his thoughts with KSL Sports after BYU’s Sweet 16 loss to Alabama: “Next year, I feel like I can try and lead a little bit, for sure. But, you know, personally, there’s a lot of room for me to improve. I can’t wait to start playing again. I want to be more of a leader and have a voice.”
Richie Saunders and Egor Demin are expected to return as starters. We’ll discuss them further below.
Dawson Baker is known for his ability to provide instant offense off the bench, and Mihailo Boskovic has a similar impact.
It will be interesting to see the roles assigned to Brody Kozlowski and Khadim Mboup in 2026. Kozlowski is the first BYU commit of the Kevin Young era, having flipped from USC after coaching changes at both schools.
Mboup could bring energy off the bench, particularly defensively. While his offense is still developing, he has significant potential on that end of the floor.
Incoming Freshmen to the BYU Basketball Roster in 2025-26
Total: 2 (As of Sunday, April 6)
AJ Dybantsa
Xavion Staton
BYU has never signed a prospect like AJ Dybantsa before. With the potential to lead BYU to a Final Four, Dybantsa’s arrival will bring high expectations, but he’s ready to embrace the challenge. Dybantsa will arrive on campus on April 29.
Xavion Staton is one of the top rim protectors from the 2025 class. Although still developing, Staton could earn a role in BYU’s rotation right away.
NBA Watch
Egor Demin
Richie Saunders
The future of Egor Demin has been a hot topic since he left the door open for a possible NBA entry after BYU’s Sweet 16 loss to Alabama. If Demin declares for the NBA draft, he’s projected to be a first-round pick. However, some wonder if the stacked 2026 draft class might influence his decision.
If Demin returns, he’ll be playing alongside future pros like AJ Dybantsa and Richie Saunders.
Speaking of Saunders, he’s also weighing his options. After an outstanding season, Saunders has positioned himself as a potential second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to Yahoo! Sports, which has him selected at No. 35. Saunders’ strong three-point shooting and defense could elevate his stock further, especially if he teams up with Dybantsa next season.
Both Demin and Saunders returning would be a major boost for BYU, potentially more impactful than any transfer portal acquisition.
The deadline to enter the NBA draft is April 26 at 9:59 p.m. (MDT).
Transfer Portal Commitments
Total: 1 (As of Sunday, April 6)
Dominique Diomande (Washington; RS-Freshman)
Diomande redshirted last year at Washington after joining midseason. The 6-foot-7 forward had a standout career in France before moving to the U.S. He’s a sleeper prospect who could fill the role of Mawot Mag from last season.
Walk-Ons
Jared McGregor (RS-Senior)
Max Triplett (Senior)
Townsend Tripple (RS-Junior)
Predicting the roles for walk-ons is difficult. Last season, BYU had 17 players on the roster, but the new roster limit is 15 spots. Max Triplett, a former Snow transfer, was identified by Kevin Young’s staff last offseason.
Transfer Portal Entries from BYU
Total: 3 (As of Sunday, April 6)
Kanon Catchings
Elijah Crawford
Dallin Hall
Three players from last year’s Sweet 16 squad have entered the transfer portal. Dallin Hall, a reserve guard, was the most significant contributor of the trio.
Kanon Catchings showed NBA potential but had a diminished role toward the end of the season after starting throughout nonconference play.
